Terms of service

What you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and what we do and don't promise about the data.

Last updated September 23, 2026

These terms are a contract between you and OpenWings Automação Comercial Ltda., CNPJ 63.852.648/0001-06 ("gmaps.dev", "we"), for the use of gmaps.dev: the API, MCP, the console, the SDK and the docs.

1. The service

gmaps.dev finds businesses listed on Google Maps in an area you choose. A search answers at once with the places we already saved. A collection searches Google Maps for the rest. Results are shared: every customer searches the same set of places, and a place you paid to collect is free for the next customer who searches that area. gmaps.dev is not affiliated with Google or Alphabet, and this is not Google's API.

2. Accounts and keys

You need an account to use the service. You're responsible for whatever is done with your API keys: keep them secret, revoke one you think has leaked, and tell us at hello@gmaps.dev. One person per account. A team shares keys, not passwords.

3. Credits, plans and payment

Usage is counted in credits. A new place costs 1 credit. A place we already saved costs nothing, and the answer says so. Email addresses cost 1 more credit per place, only when one is found. Searching, quotes and exports are free. The pricing page lists every plan and limit.

A plan gives you credits every month, reset on the 1st at midnight UTC, and sets a daily limit, a rate limit and how many collections can run at once. Credit packs add credits that never expire. They're used after your plan's credits run out, and they don't raise the daily limit.

Payment is by card, through Stripe, in US dollars. A subscription renews every month until you cancel it. When you cancel, you keep the plan until the end of the month you already paid for.

Spent credits aren't refunded, except when the failure was ours: a collection that finds no places is refunded in full, automatically. We don't refund credits because a result wasn't what you hoped for.

Prices can change. We announce a change at least 30 days ahead, and it applies from your next renewal.

4. Acceptable use

The acceptable use policy is part of these terms. In short: a public phone number or email address is not permission to contact anyone; follow the law where you and the business are; no harassment, no spam, no contacting anyone who asked to be removed, and no working around limits or removals. Email addresses also need a paid plan and your recorded acceptance of that policy. We suspend accounts that break it, at once, and without a refund when the breach is deliberate.

5. No warranty about the data

Google Maps listings change, and some are wrong. An empty answer means we haven't searched that area for that kind of business yet, not that no business is there. Every place says when we collected it. Beyond that, we don't warrant that results are complete, accurate, current or fit for any purpose, and you must not make a decision with legal or similarly significant effects on a person based only on our results.

6. Availability

We aim to be up all the time, but collecting depends on Google Maps, which we don't control. A collection that is slow or stopped says so in its status and in the console. No service credits are owed for downtime.

7. Intellectual property

The service, its software, its docs and its brand are ours. The results are yours to use within the acceptable use policy. The information inside them belongs to the businesses that published it. The console's map uses OpenStreetMap data under the ODbL, and every source we use is listed, with its license, at api.gmaps.dev/v1/attributions. Google Maps is a trademark of Google LLC.

8. Files you download

An exported file is in your hands. When we accept a removal request, the data leaves everything we serve, but not the copies you already downloaded. Keeping those copies lawful, and deleting data when the law requires it, is up to you.

9. Ending the contract

You can delete your account at any time in the console. We lock it at once, cancel your subscription and keep the account 14 days so you can change your mind. Then we delete it. The privacy policy explains backups and the payment records we must keep. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that the law requires us to close.

10. Liability

As far as the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damage or for lost profits. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, and disputes go to the courts of Curitiba, Paraná, without prejudice to the consumer rights that apply where you live.

12. Changes

We can update these terms. We announce a material change by email at least 15 days before it applies, and using the service after that date means you accept it.
